These include all New Country songs co-written with his song-writing partner, Rose Marie McCoy. Rose, a multi-decade successful songwriter and Billy Joe's mentor since he was 13, has had her works performed by artists such as Johnny Mathis, Sarah Vaughn, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Eartha Kitt, Bette Midler, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Gloria Lynne, Faith Hill and Linda Ronstadt. Of particular note, Elvis Presley recorded McCoy’s smash hits I Beg of You and Tryin’ to Get to You. Ike and Tina Turner scored one of their biggest hits with McCoy’s I think It’s Gonna Work out Fine.
